THE SWORD OF DAMOCLES IS SWINGING ⸺ this is the first book in a pjo au that i am working on, it is based on the books AND is not really based on the tv show series as i started it months before the show came out. it starts in the titan's curse and thus contains spoilers (for those who have only watched the show) for the lightning thief and sea of monsters. it is a slow burn luke castellan fic, with a little bit of grover underwood sprinkled in although as i'm writing it, i am currently considering that luke/oc/grover be the end pairing in the series. only time will tell what the endgame pairing will be. currently the book is focusing on found family and the roll the oc plays in the pjo verse.

TASK 006 // HOBBIES

The question of hobbies, in the Cannon family, is an irrelevant one. The children each had their roles to fulfill, and therefore, anything they did was in service of that role. Everett's childhood was spent in some sort of pre-training for the Peacekeeping Academy — working with weapons in the backyard, for example, was considered a fun way to spend a Saturday. If the family ever sat down to watch a movie on the old TV set, it would be something filled with propaganda, likely aimed at one of the kids' future callings: a Games highlight reel for Monty, a show about Peacekeepers doing their jobs for Everett... it was always on the nose, and always required.

So now that he's gone and left what he was supposed to do behind, he's left not sure what to fill his extra time with. He was never taught to believe in the concept of hobbies, never considered them valuable. Cain's gotten him into video games, though, and he spent a few busy months working with contractors to renovate his house, making it feel like his own home. While these things do while away some of the hours in the days, others remain yawning, wide open and empty in front of him. In the winter he goes up to the mountains every few weekends at least and rubs elbows with the Capitolites who love skiing and snowboarding, or else drinking warm alcoholic drinks by a fire. He doesn't mind that. He's also worked to create a home gym in which he can train, keeping his body busy, acting always under the fear that it might collapse on him, as it was never built to last.

But he's not sure if any of these things are hobbies, if he chose them, or if he's just been pushed into them out of idleness. If anyone would like to come along and introduce him to a hobby, he'd probably be willing to participate, but he has no idea where to begin.

I’ve been thinking a lot about an actor au where yin! yang! yo! is literally a tv show set in their own universe and all the fighting and shit is special effects and how both yin and yang were brought up into the hollywood career only hating it and wanting out . 

so here’s some headcanon’s

yin is not afraid to show off her money. like seriously. if you’re a really REALLY good friends of her’s she’ll let you borrow maybe $10 but that’s it

she still likes to play piano only it’s more so a hidden talent that she doesn’t much care to show off. Though she secretly prefers it over acting.

donates a lot of money toward charity. like a lot. 

will still kick your ass if you’re a jerk to her. she doesn’t take shit from anyway

is constantly having panic attacks over screwing up during takes and worried she’ll get fired and they’ll just replace her on the show

just wants to be a normal child and go to normal school and be a class president

hug her and tell she’s great at what she does because AGAIN, there is that constant fear that the show will push her to the curb and her family (yo and yang) won’t want anything to do with her and just forget she even exists

oh you wanna come to the set?? play with some of the props?? yin will give the tour herself after hours.

yin begs the writers herself when season two rolls around if she can get more screen time but is very subtle about it and too anxious to ask and eventually gives up hope of seeing the potential of her character on screen

minus interviews, she isn’t afraid to say how much she hates the hollywood life but will then go on to say she wouldn’t know what to do without it because she’s so good at just doing what people tell her to do

she doesn’t mind getting recognized but gets annoyed when people start harassing her and asking her for stuff
